Core Values

“You only need to know the direction, not the destination. The direction is enough to make the next choice.” -James Clear

So often in life and training, we focus solely on the destination. When is my next race? What are my long-term goals? Where will I be a year from now? However, it is essential to also remember to focus on the direction we take ourselves.

Direction is informed by our values. Our values will inform our decisions and take us towards that direction. When I first started BioEndurance, I was purely focused on the destination and what I wanted to create with this business. My mentors reminded me though, our values make decisions and direction simple. With the accumulation of these decisions, we will then reach our destination without making this the pure focus.

I thought it best to decide on the values that BioEndurance would be centered on and communicate those values with you so that you can understand what BioEndurance stands for and what you can come to expect with your care.

Community

Community has always been the forefront value of BioEndurance. While many individuals come to physical therapy at low points when dealing with an injury, I deem it essential to build a community of hope and a community of growth. Everyone is striving to grow as an athlete and an individual. When we build a community focused on this growth, we can support each other and provide quality resources to help runners stay running and help athletes achieve their athletic goals. Everyone is a member of this community and everyone will be cared for as a valued member.

Knowledge and Learning

As a clinician and coach, there is such a large emphasis on learning, researching, and building knowledge. Learning is essential to improve our care, treatment, and coaching. You can always expect evidence-based information at BioEndurance as it is my value to not only learn and improve but also teach clients and patients. We know patients get better faster and improve when properly educated about their condition, treatment, and principles that define their training. As a result, BioEndurance will always be a place that values knowledge and learning for everyone.

Empathy

Empathy frequently gets communicated, but often the meaning becomes lost in the message. At BioEndurance, empathy means ultimate understanding and listening. Runners run and train for various reasons; to get faster, to find inner peace, for stress relief, and for belonging. Stress arises when injuries appear because it massively interferes with each individual runner in a variety of ways. At BioEndurance, everyone will be treated as a unique individual and there will be a monumental effort to truly understand how your injury, condition, or goals influence you. No two people respond to the same treatment in the same way because no two people are the same. This is understood at BioEndurance and with ultimate empathy, we will strive to truly deliver the best-individualized care.

Communication

We cannot expect patients and clients to get better and improve if there is not adequate communication. Communication builds relationships, it allows learning, it is the center of human interaction. As a result, BioEndurance prioritizes efficient and effective communication. From your first interactions to follow-ups and last visits, communication will always be foremost as it will always remain essential.

Sweat

While sweat is not typically a “value”, it means something at BioEndurance. As a runner and triathlete myself, I realize we can only physically improve by doing the hard work and sweating. This symbolizes growth and truly putting the work and grind in to improve. Typically for physical injuries, there are no quick fixes, but it requires diligent work. Similarly, training requires consistency and determination to improve. Sweat means putting the work in, no matter the cost, to improve and grow. If you have a similar mindset, it will be matched at BioEndurance.

These 5 values are the foundation of BioEndurance and what it stands for as a company and as a clinic. I will always strive to keep these values at the forefront of the services I provide and the resources and content I deliver. Once again, without direction, we will become lost and stagnant. With these values and direction, we can achieve remarkable things together, so let’s get to work!
